Medium Wave Rim Plate - Crystal Black

A medium round plate by Claudia Lau Studio featuring a subtle wave detail around the rim. Meticulously made by hand in Melbourne of stoneware clay with a Black Crystal glaze, reflecting a matte charcoal black that shimmers in the light. The ideal size for serving a snack, or storing jewelry pieces. 

This crystalline glaze requires unique and highly specialized firing technical knowledge and conditions to achieve the "perfect" surface. 

Care instructions:  

All glazes have been fired to 1300 degrees and are for use with food unless specified. Claudia uses a particular and detailed process that involves starving a gas-fired kiln of oxygen, increasing the formation of crystals in the glazes and
