BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE

BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE was designed around the premise of ‘shapes made by chance.’ The line of bags and pouches, created in 2000, balances the creative functionality and modern spirit of our time. BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE continues to indulge us in a pursuit of intriguing shapes born out of simple pieces and diverse materials. Folding, accommodating and transforming itself after handling, each piece implements the concept of functional art.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE PIECES

To remove dirt from a BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE product, wipe gently with a damp, tightly wrung soft cloth and then wipe dry. Do not use paint thinner, benzene or detergent, etc. To dry, please wipe with a soft cloth.

STORAGE

BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE products come with a dust bag to protect when storing. Please store in a well-ventilated place, do not expose to direct sunlight, heat or high humidity.

PRECAUTIONS

– As the materials used in the construction of BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE products are heat-sensitive, please do not place this bag where it will be exposed to high temperatures.
– Avoid folding when storing as this can result in visible fold marks. Avoid placing other items on top as this may cause permanent marks or dents.
– When wearing delicate fabrics, please take care to avoid the bag catching onto any fibres.
– Avoid allowing the surface of the bag to remain in contact with printed materials such as newspapers or magazines for an extended period. This can cause a colour transfer to occur.

MATERIALS FOR BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE

Most BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE pieces are made from bonded Polyester mesh and triangles. Sometimes the pieces will be made out of PVC. All of the studs and trims on the pieces are made from brass with a coating on top to avoid tarnishing.

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE

Launched in 1993, Issey Miyake’s iconic diffusion line, PLEATS PLEASE, is famed for its design and wearability. The unique construction process involves a garment first being cut and sewn before being Individually pleated. This process creates shape and texture in an elegant yet functional garment. This practicality stems from Miyake’s philosophy of continuing to focus on both the importance of imagination and the development of new technology in clothing.

MATERIALS FOR PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE garments are made solely from Polyester. Polyester is chosen as it is a synthetic fabric and is able to hold the pleats well. A PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE garment is created by first cutting and sewing the garment together before it is hand fed into a heat pleating system. The heat set pleating method ensures the permanence of the pleating.

me ISSEY MIYAKE

Founded in 2008, me ISSEY MIYAKE is built around different variations of the plissé fabric treatment and continues to seek bolder innovation in the construction of quality garments. The collection emphasises the clever quality of ‘memory’ associated with ISSEY MIYAKE fabrics and utilises the pleating which is similar in character to that of a Cauliflower. The me ISSEY MIYAKE line introduces the wearer to the joyful, imaginative and creative world that is ISSEY MIYAKE.
